INDIAN SCHEME TO ISOLATE PAKISTAN BEARING FRUIT

Chidambaram whispering in Clinton's ear to cut aid to PakistanThe scheme of pro-India lobby and their Trojan Horses inside Pakistan to isolate Pakistan and choke the nation is bearing fruit for the Hindu nationalists. The plans have been exposed as well the Trojan horses working inside the country to support these nefarious designs. News reports today reveal that despite being exposed these elements have managed to stay under the nation’s radar and now their plans are growing fruits.

On Friday, US Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano will meet with Indian Home Minister P. Chidambaram for the first time to discuss counter-terrorism ties between two sides. India is capitalizing on the discovery of Osama bin Laden and the attack on PNS Mehran by whispering in the ear of US officials that Pakistan cannot be trusted. Even though US officials reaction to the discovery of Osama bin Laden was to admit that the operation was made possible by intelligence cooperation with Pakistan and US officials have repeatedly confirmed that no government or military officials had knowledge of bin Laden’s hideout, India is playing on American fears of a repeated 9/11 attack to be a ‘devils advocate’ against Pakistan.

Inside the country, the Indian talking points are boosted by statements by those such as Shireen Mazari and Hamid Gul for example who appear on TV to beat the drum of anti-Americanism and whip up feelings in the US that Pakistan is not an ally. It should be noted that Shireen Mazari has been saying for years to cut off funding and supplies for Pakistan’s defences. Some of India’s Trojan Horses must have been quite pleased to see the destruction of Orion planes which were essential to detecting and tracking Indian submarines.

The article in Economic Times ends by noting the statement by DG ISI Pasha warning India that any Abbottabad-like attack would invite a befitting response. Why this is included in an article about the coming US-India meeting unless India is planning to request US not to intervene to protect Pakistan in the event that they carry out such a plan? We must recall that US military training and supplies has always played a key role in enabling Pakistan to defend itself against Indian aggression.

Removing this source of defence and security resources has been a goal of India since they were rebuked by the US military chief Admiral Michael Mullen when he told Defence Minister A.K. Antony last summer that US would not turn its back on its friend Pakistan again.

Characterising U.S.-Pakistan military cooperation as being reflective of the growing relations and friendship between the two countries, Admiral Mullen said Washington was broadening its military relations with Islamabad after the ties were cut off for almost a dozen years.

This is why Indian newspapers run so many English language articles describing US aid to Pakistan as the cause of terrorism.

No sooner had U.S. President Barack Obama assumed office than he implemented a military surge in Afghanistan. In Pakistan, however, he implemented an aid surge, turning it into the largest recipient of American aid. This only deepened U.S. involvement in the wrong war and emboldened Pakistan to fatten the Afghan Taliban, even as sustained U.S. drone and other attacks in Waziristan continued to severely weaken the already-fragmented al- Qaeda.

Recent articles by India lobby admits that the goal of their plan is “to cut off aid to Pakistan’s military might”.

The US has but one interest which is to see terrorism stamped out. This is the same goal of Pakistan which has borne the greatest burden of terrorist violence including the loss at PNS Mehran, the suicide bombing against CID building in Peshawar, and the suicide bombing against police bus in Jalalabad one week ago. Each of these attacks has targeted Pakistan’s defences which are boosted with the American military aid. Therefore India knows that by cutting off this vital lifeline of security and defence cooperation between Pakistan and US, they’re plan will come to bear fruit.

So now the moment is at hand and we must ask whether we will allow ourselves to be betrayed in this manner not by the US who is rather but a confused pardesi caught in a web of Indian intrigue but the betrayal of the Trojan horses who are acting as a fifth-column and facilitating this scheme from the inside also.

Blame Game Plays To Indian Hand

It has been more than a week since the US military operation took place killing Osama Bin Laden in the dark of night and our government and security forces waking up to find out what has happened. There is no doubt. Pakistan is under heavy scrutiny. Various American officials and civilians are now wondering about the extent of Pakistani knowledge of Osama Bin Laden’s whereabouts and if Pakistan betrayed the United States in his support.

So far, no evidence has come up suggesting that Pakistan’s intelligence services, the ISI, or the government were aware of the terrorist leader’s hideout. Numerous posts, articles and interviews by pseudo intellectual bloggers, wannabe politicians and every pencil pusher office holder who thinks that he or she knows what happened and what’s best for the country. Such “intellectuals” have also openly bashed the government and our security forces whilst asking for resignations from people in key positions.

Being a self-proclaimed Muhib-e-Watan and a patriot of the highest degree, I cannot emphasize enough at this time how important it is to stop playing the blame game. A major lapse occurred, no one is denying that and yes, anyone responsible should be held accountable for this lapse. The best action to take now is a thorough and proper investigation where the personnel responsible for this lapse should be held accountable. A proper procedure and protocol should be followed. Arguing amongst ourselves and blaming the government or the security forces only weakens us at a nation and plays into the hands of Indians.

I recently read an article that says our leaders including the likes of Ch. Nisar and Shah Mehmood Qureshi, are saying how the government officials should resign because of great embarrassment and failure to do their jobs. Can someone please ask this leaders if they know of a single Indian intelligence official who stepped down after 26/11? Or if the Indian PM or President resigned afterwards? Arguing and trying to play the domestic politics in their favor will not help our nation prosper and constant bickering and name-calling will only serve to portray us as a joke in the international arena. The scary part is that this handful of people is intentionally or unintentionally playing the part of an Indian Trojan Horse.

These hyper-nationalists, politicians, and media personnel, who play a big role in molding the minds of 180 million population, should know that openly blaming the government leadership or implying that our Army has been a let down and become a cause of embarrassment plays right into the hands of Indians who are already declaring us a failed state incapable of handling our own matters. These influential people should not be pointing out our internal insecurities and weakening authority of our military and civilian leadership. Who will protect our borders then when our neighbors come knocking? Social butterflies or Rock Band champion burger bachas?

I follow twitter and face book and the one trend that I am picking up on is how Indians are enjoying this whole situation at our expense. They are keen on pointing out our security flaws and never forget to mention the lion’s shares of our military budget from our country’s economy. It is inconceivable for them that ISI was not able to keep a track of OBL or for that matter was caught off guard by the US Navy Seals operation. The one good thing that I see here is that it shows how Indian mindset knows of our superiority in military intelligence and they just cannot comprehend that an information and security lapse was present.

Finally, I agree that there should be an investigation and anyone found responsible for bringing this embarrassment on us should be lashed upon in regards to this whole dilemma. But everything needs to be done in such a way that problems are taken care of internally where reports and investigations are made, and people responsible are held accountable. Shouting, yelling and name-calling in media is only giving way to Indians and outsiders making fun of the entire situation at our expense.

Shireen Mazari Attacking Military Again

Shireen Mazari is again attacking the military and has requested the funding for the military be stopped! Writing in her column of The Nation titled “The Faisal Shahzad Puzzle” Shireen Mazari accuses Pakistan military of targeting Pakistani civilians and being some puppet of the USA.

This is what Shireen Mazari thinks of Pakistan’s military. Can it be any wonder that she does not get invited to military press briefings? Why would military brass talk to someone who accuses them of targeting the people they are protecting?

But this is not the worst. Shireen Mazari also repeats her old request to stop funding Pakistan’s defences.

Incidentally, if the government is unwilling to use the capability its air force has of shooting down drones, as was demonstrated to the PM recently, why are we acquiring such expensive systems? If we cannot or will not fight anyone but are own tribals, we need to review our military expenditures.

Shireen Mazari has again asked to cut funding for the military. The first time she did this was excused by some people because they think that it will be possible to defend against India if we snub the American military. I think this is a mistake. But this time there is nothing about refusing American military supplies. Now only she is calling for Pakistani government to stop funding the military! Shireen Mazari needs to let the Army do their own job and she to do her own job and keep her mouth shut about the military.

Can this be called anything but treason? Shireen Mazari is part of the ‘Trojan Horse’ brigade that continually insults our military and is calling for cuts to defence budgets and military budgets.

She must have received a nice box of sweetmeats from her good friend Mr. A.K. Antony for this! Obviously Shireen Mazari also and Mr. A.K. Antony also have the same goal – destroying Pakistan’s military. THIS WILL NOT HAPPEN EVER.

Do Not Drag Army Into NRO Fight

The NRO fight continues with Nawaz calling for resignations. It seems a bit much for him of all people to be telling anyone to resign, but this is his right, I guess. What is not right, though, is for people to try to drag the Army into a political fight.

The military has a job to do and is busy taking care of the Talibani butchers. The government needs to be able to sort out its own disagreements itself. Actually, the situation is mostly just politics. There are some government officials who want to keep their power, and there some opposition politicians who want to take their power.

Politicians can fight over these things in the National Assembly, and they can talk to the lawyers and the courts for their opinions. But the Army is not the Supreme Court’s Bailiff to be waiting around for orders to get involved in a political mess. Rather, the military is busy protecting our country.

The question should be, Who is it that wants the military to get involved and why? We have seen that senior lawyer Abdul Hafeez Pirzada has said the SC should involve the military. But who is behind this push? What are their motives?

Obviously, if the Army was forced into a political battle, it would result in the military being discredited in the eyes of many citizens as they would think that this was the Army taking a political side. Also, it would be very bad for our military’s strategic relationships in the world because it would be called a coup. Also, this would be a distraction from the REAL fight against the butchers that continue attacking our innocents. So the only reason to try to drag Army into the NRO fight is to try to harm the military through a back door.

This reminds us of some other plotting that has been done in the past, and it is hard not to consider that maybe some of our clever Indian Trojan Horses are behind this new scheme as well.

Let this be a warning to those who are plotting to try to distract our military from its mission and try to drag it into a political fight. We are on to you and will not let it happen.

Conspiracy theorist Ahmed Quraishi resurfaces with new hypocrisy

Master Conspiracy theorist Ahmed Quraishi is back – one had not heard from him in a few months making one wonder if he had changed his principal occupation. After all, he has tried in the past to be an employee of Voice of America (VOA) and has also been a member of the American Political Consultants Association –both facts reported with full references by www.pakistanmediawatch.com

In his latest piece Ahmed Quraishi once again attempts to pit Pakistan against the United States, intentionally or inadvertently benefiting Pakistan’s real nemesis – India. He does so by bundling together unconnected stuff into an emotional argument without any citation of sources or proper facts.

Quraishi claims for the umpteenth time that there is a huge American conspiracy against Pakistan. Unlike what Quraishi and others like him are attempting to spin US Defense Secretary Robert Gates never “admitted” in any interview that Blackwater was operating in Pakistan. In reply to a question on whether private US security contractors were working in Pakistan all that Secretary Gates said was that security contractors were indeed operating in Pakistan and the US government would ensure that they abide by Pakistan’s laws.

What Ahmed Quraishi fails to mention is that these contractors – especially DynCorp – have been in Pakistan since Musharraf’s time. Musharraf, in case anyone forgets, was the object of admiration of people like Ahmed Quraishi who have been yearning for a military takeover of the kind that brought Musharraf to power in 1999.

As an all powerful, patriotism defining general, Musharraf is a ‘favorite’ of anti-democrats like Ahmed Quraishi and so Quraishi forgives or ignores all of Musharraf’s actions, focusing exclusively in creating hatred against elected Pakistani leaders and the United States. During Musharraf’s regime Ahmed Quraishi used to accuse everyone – lawyers, media, civil society – of being American agents while clarifying that Musharraf was pursuing an ‘independent foreign policy.’ What he – and others like him – never discussed then was that DynCorp International, a United States-based private military contractor (PMC) and aircraft maintenance company, was allowed by the Musharraf government to enter and work in Pakistan.

What the current civilian government is doing by allowing DynCorp to stay in Pakistan is only a continuation of international agreements undertaken under Musharraf. It is diffuclt to understand how even after allowing DynCorp to operate in Pakistan Musharraf followed an ‘independent foreign policy’ in Ahmed Quraishi’s eyes but by allowing DynCorp to stay the civilian government is kowtowing to Americans?

Mr Quraishi must explain this inherent contradiction in his argument – that is if there is any argument at all. Or is his real problem with elected, civilian rule whereas a dictatorship ruling with the help of secret services is the ideal of the anti-democrats.

Most of Quraishi’s article is a rant against the American media and think tank world for their supposedly anti-Pakistan views and lack of understanding of Pakistan’s security concerns. However, both the American media and the policy world are an assorted group and you find diverse views on every topic, not just US-Pakistan relations. There are pro-Pakistan voices in the U.S. too, which Pakistanis should cultivate rather than drive all Americans away and create more enemies for our country.

Also if Ahmed Quraishi can talk about Pakistan’s security and foreign interests from ‘a Pakistani angle’ why should the American media not discuss US foreign policy issues from an American angle? Why deny to others what you arrogate to yourself?

As always while attacking the American media and think tank world Ahmed Quraishi fails to mention that he had applied for a job with Voice of America and that he is a member of the American Association of Political Consultants.

The ‘senior Pakistani journalist’ Talat Hussain whom Ahmed Quraishi cites as someone ‘who is in the know of things’ is the same person who during Secretary Clinton’s visit to Pakistan in October 2009 made a “$640 million mistake” by wrongly citing how much aid U.S. gives to Kyrgyzstan. Also, Talat Hussain once worked for CNN and Time Magazine while his brother Riffat Hussain has worked in US think tanks but that does not disqualify them from being super-patriots while Talat Hussain (as quoted by Ahmed Quraishi) pokes fun at all those Pakistani journalists and civil society leaders who oppose the Taliban and seek good relations with the U.S.

What hypocrisy !!!

Pak Army Ready For Any Danger Says Zardari

Pak Army is ready to face any danger says Zardari

President Zardari’s statements in Karachi made our chests swell with pride as he reinforced the foundation of our national security, that we are a peace-loving nation, but that we will stand firm against any enemies either foreign or domestic.

This should come as a clear warning to those anti-Pakistan jihadis who think that they can cause some communalist divide by attacking Ashura or bombing volleyball games. The lifetimes of these militant butchers is limited if they do not put down their weapons against Pakistan.

This is also an important message for those RAW agents and Indian ‘Trojan Horses’ that are trying to cause disruptions in Pakistan and make confusion and disorder in our public discussion, driving a rift between our relationship with the American military. We want peace, but peace with honour. Your attempts to isolate Pakistan will never succeed!

KARACHI: Pakistan is a peace-loving country and believes in peace with honour and does not want an arms race in the region, President Asif Ali Zardari on Monday said in an address after reviewing the Midshipmen Commissioning and SSC Class passing out parade of the Pakistan Naval Academy (PNA).

However, he said “our desire for peace must not be taken as a sign of weakness and our armed forces are ready to meet all challenges”.

He said “we have full faith in our armed forces and the people to defend our country”.

The President said “our armed forces are ready to meet all the challenges and guard against all external and internal threats”.

He stated it was every Pakistani’s duty to fight against external and internal enemies who disrupt the country’s peace and progress.

Zardari also pointed out that the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) would not disappoint the nation.

The president, at the occasion, emphasised that a strong navy was necessary to meet any challenge to Pakistan’s maritime security.

He said the recent induction of PNS Zulfiqar and helicopters was intended to strengthen the country’s naval fleet.

Zardari said he was pleased that Pakistan Navy was following the path of self-reliance and the construction of submarines in the country was a significant step forward in this direction.

Zardari urged that there should be optimum use of the national resources.

He said “the country is facing new challenges to its security…extremism is a big threat to our existence. We need a united national commitment to fight and defeat militancy.”

The President pointed out that the government has given political ownership to the fight against militancy and terrorism.

He said Pakistan Navy’s participation in the Coalition Maritime Campaign (CMCP) has enhanced the navy’s professional capabilities in checking arms, drugs and human smuggling.

President Zardari said it has also improved Pakistan’s capacity to fight the threat of militancy to our national security.

“It is reassuring that Pakistan Navy commanded the Maritime Task Force 150 thrice…it shows our resolve towards international peace,” he said.

On the occasion, President Zardari urged young naval officers to dedicate themselves to their profession and protect the sea lanes of the country’s communication.

He said he was pleased to learn that Pakistan Naval Academy was training cadets from the brotherly countries of Kazakhstan, Maldives, Palestine, Saudi Arabia, Yemen and Sudan.

The President also congratulated the passing out Midshipmen and the SSC Class cadets.

The President said he was particularly pleased to note that for the first time women officers were also part of this passing out parade.

He said the women officers’ presence at the ceremony reflected the policy of the government to encourage women to play their role in all areas of the national progress including defence.

The ceremony was also attended by the Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah, Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee General Tariq Majeed and Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Noman Bashir.

Quraishi's Coup: Who Is He Really Working For?

Ahmed Quriashi has graduated from conspiracy propagandist to seditionist, it seems. On his Facebook page, Quraishi has been posting semi-coherent rants calling for the military to overthrow the Pakistani government with force:

The American house of cards in Pakistan – Zardari, NRO, Malik-Haqqani and the famous Mush-BB deal – are all coming down. I urge Gen. Tariq Majeed and Gen. Kayani to ditch that deal and save the country from this US- and UK-imposed leadership. Not that the replacement is any better. But we’ll deal with that later. Get rid of CIA and MI6 agents in Islamabad first.

Ahmed Quraishi calls for coup in Pakistan

Ahmed Quraishi calls for coup in Pakistan

This is an explicit call for the violent overthrow of the Pakistani government, and an outright act of sedition by a member of the media. In fact, Mr. Media Taliban has taken this call for return to military dictatorship to the airwaves and tried, in a very clever way, to say that his plan is for the military to overthrow the democratically elected civilian government and replace it with…a civilian government. Presumably, this new government of Quraishi’s would be hand-picked by him.

In the course of his unhinged ranting, Media Taliban Ahmed Quraishi goes so far as to call Pakistan “a failure” and to suggest that we throw out the Constitution! Ahmed Quraishi cynically calls himself a “nationalist,” but he can never call himself a PATRIOT. No REAL Pakistani Patriot and Nationalist would so insult the legacy of Quaid-i-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah!

“Pakistan’s parliamentary system is a failure for the past 60 years…”

Ahmed Quraishi insults Quaid-i-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah

Ahmed Quraishi insults Quaid-i-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah

Let’s take a close look at Quraishi’s call for a coup d’etat. This is a ridiculous and dangerous proposition from the start.

One, after suffering under military dictatorship for so long, does Quraishi really believe that the military would overthrow the government just to walk away from power? Of course, Ahmed Quraishi, the man who has never met a dictator he didn’t like, would probably be more than happy to another Musharraf back in power.

Ahmed Quraishi receiving an award from Gen. Pervez Musharraf

Ahmed Quraishi receiving an award from Gen. Pervez Musharraf

Two, let’s put aside for a moment the fantasy world in which Ahmed Quraishi lives and examine this idea in the real world. What would happen to Pakistan if the military overthrew the democratically elected government? For a hint, we can look at the recent situation in Honduras. Following the coup d’etat there, Honduras became a global pariah, completely isolated from the world and under a state of emergency and riots. Do we really think things would be better in Pakistan?

Three, building off points One and Two, we can clearly see that this proposal of Mr. Quraishi is a trap for the military. As we clearly demonstrated in our post about Quraishi’s colleague Shireen Mazari’s suggestion that the military cut ties with the Americans, isolating the military will cripple Pakistan’s ability to defend itself. There is no question about this. For an example, we can again look at the recent coup in Honduras. Following the military’s overthrow of the democratically elected government, the US suspended military aid to Honduras.

The United States said on Wednesday it had suspended $16.5 million in military aid to Honduras following last month’s coup, and ousted President Manuel Zelaya demanded his rivals hand power back to him in 24 hours.

For all his anti-American rhetoric, one question keeps coming to mind. Who does Ahmed Quraishi work for?

Ahmed Quraishi appears as a member of the American Association of Political Consultants. He is an expert propagandist, of that there is no doubt. So the question remains, who is Quraishi’s American client? Who is he really working for?

Ahmed Quraishi's member profile for the American Association of Political Consultants

Ahmed Quraishi's member profile for the American Association of Political Consultants

Certainly Quraishi is not working for the Americans. He is clearly trying to force a wedge between the American and and Pakistani military. So then who is supporting him and giving him his talking points? To discover the answer, we must look at what other clients could be registered in America. Perhaps the answer is that powerful and crafty lobby in the US – India?

It’s time for Ahmed Quraishi to come clean about who his real masters are. He should open up his financial records for review by an independent investigation. Jamaati Quraishi has every right to his point of view, but the people also have every right to know who is representing when makes seditious claims for a coup d’etat!

UPDATE: Musharraf Exposes India Involvement in Pak Terror

A couple of weeks ago I asked the question, Are Pakistan’s Anti-US Hawks Indian Trojan Horses? This post clearly demonstrated that the support of JI and some hyper-nationalists are supporting India either intentionally or inadvertently. Some have claimed that this is too far fetched – that the attempt to weaken Pakistan was not a plot by India to isolate Pakistan from alliances with global superpowers so that they can dominate South Asia.

But yesterday, former president Pervez Musharraf said that India and RAW have been plotting secret conspiracies to rule the region.

India and its secret agencies had been hatching conspiracies against Pakistan by making their hegemony in Afghanistan, he said and added that Pakistan had proof regarding the involvement of India in terrorist activities in Pakistan.

As former Chief of Army Staff and President of Pakistan, Musharraf would have had access to intelligence that made clear the connection between Indian meddling and terrorism in Pakistan.

In fact, looking at recent attacks in Pakistan, there is a clear thread of evidence that points to Indian involvement:

1. The bombing on Sunday in Peshawar targeted a bazaar where people were buying sacrifices for Eid al-Adha.

2. Attacks have been targeting military officers. On October 22, one brigadier was murdered in Islamabad. And again this past weekend another assassination attempt was made against a brigadier.

This again raises the point that those jihadi sympathizers and pro-jihadi elements like Ahmed Quraishi are either intentionally or inadvertently supporting Indian efforts to weaken Pakistan.

When America was attacked on 9/11, the media did not begin to support Osama bin Laden and his band of hijackers. Rather, the people of America stood together to protect their country. A common cry was “Support Our Troops!”

Why in Pakistan are we determined to commit suicide by not supporting our military, but rather supporting these figures like JI that never wanted Pakistan to exist in the first place, or Ahmed Quraishi who makes his millions promoting conspiracy stories and supporting the terrorists that are murdering our courageous military officers and soldiers?

It is time for Real Pakistani Nationalists reject these distractions and Indian Trojan Horses and to stand up for our military.
