INDIAN SCHEME TO ISOLATE PAKISTAN BEARING FRUIT

Chidambaram whispering in Clinton's ear to cut aid to PakistanThe scheme of pro-India lobby and their Trojan Horses inside Pakistan to isolate Pakistan and choke the nation is bearing fruit for the Hindu nationalists. The plans have been exposed as well the Trojan horses working inside the country to support these nefarious designs. News reports today reveal that despite being exposed these elements have managed to stay under the nation’s radar and now their plans are growing fruits.

On Friday, US Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano will meet with Indian Home Minister P. Chidambaram for the first time to discuss counter-terrorism ties between two sides. India is capitalizing on the discovery of Osama bin Laden and the attack on PNS Mehran by whispering in the ear of US officials that Pakistan cannot be trusted. Even though US officials reaction to the discovery of Osama bin Laden was to admit that the operation was made possible by intelligence cooperation with Pakistan and US officials have repeatedly confirmed that no government or military officials had knowledge of bin Laden’s hideout, India is playing on American fears of a repeated 9/11 attack to be a ‘devils advocate’ against Pakistan.

Inside the country, the Indian talking points are boosted by statements by those such as Shireen Mazari and Hamid Gul for example who appear on TV to beat the drum of anti-Americanism and whip up feelings in the US that Pakistan is not an ally. It should be noted that Shireen Mazari has been saying for years to cut off funding and supplies for Pakistan’s defences. Some of India’s Trojan Horses must have been quite pleased to see the destruction of Orion planes which were essential to detecting and tracking Indian submarines.

The article in Economic Times ends by noting the statement by DG ISI Pasha warning India that any Abbottabad-like attack would invite a befitting response. Why this is included in an article about the coming US-India meeting unless India is planning to request US not to intervene to protect Pakistan in the event that they carry out such a plan? We must recall that US military training and supplies has always played a key role in enabling Pakistan to defend itself against Indian aggression.

Removing this source of defence and security resources has been a goal of India since they were rebuked by the US military chief Admiral Michael Mullen when he told Defence Minister A.K. Antony last summer that US would not turn its back on its friend Pakistan again.

Characterising U.S.-Pakistan military cooperation as being reflective of the growing relations and friendship between the two countries, Admiral Mullen said Washington was broadening its military relations with Islamabad after the ties were cut off for almost a dozen years.

This is why Indian newspapers run so many English language articles describing US aid to Pakistan as the cause of terrorism.

No sooner had U.S. President Barack Obama assumed office than he implemented a military surge in Afghanistan. In Pakistan, however, he implemented an aid surge, turning it into the largest recipient of American aid. This only deepened U.S. involvement in the wrong war and emboldened Pakistan to fatten the Afghan Taliban, even as sustained U.S. drone and other attacks in Waziristan continued to severely weaken the already-fragmented al- Qaeda.

Recent articles by India lobby admits that the goal of their plan is “to cut off aid to Pakistan’s military might”.

The US has but one interest which is to see terrorism stamped out. This is the same goal of Pakistan which has borne the greatest burden of terrorist violence including the loss at PNS Mehran, the suicide bombing against CID building in Peshawar, and the suicide bombing against police bus in Jalalabad one week ago. Each of these attacks has targeted Pakistan’s defences which are boosted with the American military aid. Therefore India knows that by cutting off this vital lifeline of security and defence cooperation between Pakistan and US, they’re plan will come to bear fruit.

So now the moment is at hand and we must ask whether we will allow ourselves to be betrayed in this manner not by the US who is rather but a confused pardesi caught in a web of Indian intrigue but the betrayal of the Trojan horses who are acting as a fifth-column and facilitating this scheme from the inside also.

USA To Increase Military Aid for Pakistan

Pakistan military equipped with US supplies

According to the American newspaper Wall Street Journal, the President Barack Hussain Obama is planning to increase military support for Pak Army.

The Obama administration is planning to ramp up military support to the Pakistani army as part of an effort to persuade Islamabad to do far more to combat Islamic militants.

According to the news report, this support will be more than USD$2 Billions (Rs.172 Billions) in military equipment.

The new military aid, which is contingent on congressional approval, is expected to amount to more than $2 billion over five years, would pay for equipment Pakistan can use for counterinsurgency and counterterror operations. U.S. officials say they hope the new aid could effectively eliminate Pakistan’s objections that it doesn’t have the equipment needed to launch more operations in tribal areas.

Department of Defense officials, including Adm. Michael Mullen, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, will meet on Wednesday with Pakistani Army Chief of Staff Gen. Ashfaq Kayani at the Pentagon.

With the military stretched thin by dealing with flood relief, militants, and Indian aggression, this is a vital support to our national defense.

This also flies in the face of the false hypernationalists like Shireen Mazari who says that Pakistan should cut funding for Pakistan’s military and reject strategic relationships to US military. If Shireen Mazari and her kind had their way, Pakistan would be immediately vulnerable to Indian attacks! By strengthening our partnership with the USA we are able to improve our national defense by getting more military equipment and showing the Indian aggressors that WE WILL NOT BE INTIMIDATED.

Where is the outrage now?

Where is the Ghairat Brigade? Where are the nationalists? Where are the defenders of Pakistan’s honour when our very President is being insulted by the foreign media? Why they remain silent when the representative of the nation is being tarred by foreigners?

My blood began to boil today when I read in The News that foreign media is attacking our president. Of course, these hypocrites in the media are actually SUPPORTING ATTACKS ON PAKISTAN because they are not nationalists, they are not patriots – NO. They are hypocrites one and all.

You do not have to be a supporter of Zardari, but a true patriot is a SUPPORTER OF PAKISTAN! And does not allow insults to our leaders by foreign medias.

Where is Shireen Mazari now? Where is Ahmed Quriashi? Where is the pride now? Where is the outrage now? It is silence from these hypocrites only.

REAL PAKISTANI NATIONALISTS WILL NOT REMAIN SILENT AS OUR PRESIDENT IS INSULTED BY FOREIGN MEDIA!!!

Shireen Mazari Attacking Military Again

Shireen Mazari is again attacking the military and has requested the funding for the military be stopped! Writing in her column of The Nation titled “The Faisal Shahzad Puzzle” Shireen Mazari accuses Pakistan military of targeting Pakistani civilians and being some puppet of the USA.

This is what Shireen Mazari thinks of Pakistan’s military. Can it be any wonder that she does not get invited to military press briefings? Why would military brass talk to someone who accuses them of targeting the people they are protecting?

But this is not the worst. Shireen Mazari also repeats her old request to stop funding Pakistan’s defences.

Incidentally, if the government is unwilling to use the capability its air force has of shooting down drones, as was demonstrated to the PM recently, why are we acquiring such expensive systems? If we cannot or will not fight anyone but are own tribals, we need to review our military expenditures.

Shireen Mazari has again asked to cut funding for the military. The first time she did this was excused by some people because they think that it will be possible to defend against India if we snub the American military. I think this is a mistake. But this time there is nothing about refusing American military supplies. Now only she is calling for Pakistani government to stop funding the military! Shireen Mazari needs to let the Army do their own job and she to do her own job and keep her mouth shut about the military.

Can this be called anything but treason? Shireen Mazari is part of the ‘Trojan Horse’ brigade that continually insults our military and is calling for cuts to defence budgets and military budgets.

She must have received a nice box of sweetmeats from her good friend Mr. A.K. Antony for this! Obviously Shireen Mazari also and Mr. A.K. Antony also have the same goal – destroying Pakistan’s military. THIS WILL NOT HAPPEN EVER.

Did Army Snub Ahmed Quraishi, Shareen Mazari, Shaheen Sehbai, and Shahid Masood?

Not invited

A few weeks ago, Army Chief Gen. Kiyani invited editors and columnists to a press briefing. Interestingly, Ahmed Quraishi, Shireen Mazari, Shaheen Sehbai, and Shahid Masood were not invited. Was this an intentional snub by the military brass to send a clear signal that these people do not speak for the military? Or was it just that these journalists are so irrelevant that the Army did not think to invite them?

Usually, if a reporter is truly close to the establishment, they are not only invited, they are given special access like a closed door briefing before the official briefing so that they can get background statements from the officials. These four not only got no invitation to a closed door briefing, they were not even invited to the regular press briefing!

Ahmed Quraishi, Shireen Mazari, Shaheen Sehbai, and Shahid Masood are well known for claiming to be unofficial experts on the Pakistani establishment – especially the military. They are always saying that they have spoken to high up sources, even when what they say turns out to be wrong. But it seems from this latest snub that they are not as connected as they claim to be.

Ahmed Quraishi and Shireen Mazari in particular tend to represent ‘old think’ on security issues. They support a military coup and for the military to cut iself off from allied powers and are opposed to the present democracy and the way that Gen. Kiyani is working with the government.

While each of them probably has some contacts from the military, it could be that their contacts may not be current military leaders. Also, it could be that their sources are actually retired military or ex-military who supported the Musharraf and Zia dictatorships and are filling their heads with false information rather than accurate information in attempt to disrupt the actual policies of the current military establishment.

If this is the case, it makes sense for them not to receive invitations to press briefings by the military brass. The military leadership would recognize them as working for elements that are opposing the actual plans and policies of Gen. Kiyani and his staff so they would refuse them any invitations.

None of these media personalities will reveal who their sources are, so we do not know if this is the case. It could be that sometimes their sources do not exist at all, but are simply invented in order to give their articles and talk shows some air of authority that is missing. But it seems very apparent that if they cannot even get an invitation to a public press briefing, they probably do not have sources that are very high up.

Was this a calculated snub? Is it because Ahmed Quraishi, Shireen Mazari, Shaheen Sehbai, and Shahid Masood do not represent the Army? Are Ahmed Quraishi, Shireen Mazari, Shaheen Sehbai, and Shahid Masood reflecting an old mindset from the past that the present establishment wants to distance itself from? Or does the military brass think that Ahmed Quraishi, Shireen Mazari, Shaheen Sehbai, and Shahid Masood are just too irrelevant to bother inviting them?

Whatever the answers are, one thing is made clear by the snub – Ahmed Quraishi, Shireen Mazari, Shaheen Sehbai, and Shahid Masood obviously do not speak for the military.

Shireen Mazari Stabs Military In the Back

shireen-mazari-stabs-military-in-the-backShireen Mazari has finally let the cat out of the bag and exposed herself as anti-military. In today’s The Nation, the editorial suggests that because of suspicion and mistrust between the American and Pakistani militaries, Pakistan’s military should cut off it’s ties to the US military. This is a stab in the back from a member of the national media.

For all its faults, the US is a major supporter of Pakistan’s military. The Americans provide essential funding, equipment, and training to Pakistan that help our brave soldiers defend the homeland. Working closely with top military officers, President Obama has expedited delivery of new technologies to help Pakistan’s defense.

During preparations this spring for the Pakistani campaigns in Swat and South Waziristan, President Obama personally intervened at the request of Pakistan’s top army general to speed the delivery of 10 Mi-17 troop transport helicopters. Senior Pentagon officials have also hurried spare parts for Cobra helicopter gunships, night vision goggles, body armor and eavesdropping equipment to the fight.

American military surveillance drones are feeding video images and target information to Pakistani ground commanders, and the Pentagon has quietly provided the Pakistani Air Force with high-resolution, infrared sensors for F-16 warplanes, which Pakistan is using to guide bomb attacks on militants’ strongholds in South Waziristan.

In addition, the number of American Special Forces soldiers and support personnel who are training and advising Pakistani Army and paramilitary troops has doubled in the past eight months, to as many as 150, an American adviser said. The Americans do not conduct combat operations.

This military partnership is ongoing, despite attempts by some to drive a wedge between us and the Americans and leaving us isolated. Think of what this isolation would cost:

This year alone, the Pentagon is sending more than $500 million in arms, equipment and training assistance to Pakistan, to help train and equip the Pakistani military for counterinsurgency operations.

Included in that package is nearly $13 million in electronic eavesdropping equipment to intercept militants’ cellphone calls. In July, the Pentagon supplied Pakistan with 200 night vision goggles, 100 day/night scopes, more than 600 radios and 9,475 sets of body armor.

The Pentagon has also sharply increased programs to bring Pakistani officers to the United States for training, particularly in counterterrorism.

So why is Shireen Mazari suggesting that the military distance itself from the US!?! Today’s editorial says, “It is time to create a distance between the Pakistan and US militaries.”

Let’s think about what this would mean in practical defense terms. If Shireen Mazari had her way, our military would not have:

  • New Mi-17 helicopters
  • New F-16 warplanes
  • Cobra helicopter gunship parts
  • Night vision goggles
  • Body armor to protect our soldiers
  • Eavesdropping equipment to gather intelligence
  • Hi-resolution infrared sensors for F-16 warplanes
  • Training by the world’s superpower
  • $500 million in arms
  • Hundreds of day/night scopes
  • Hundreds of radios

This is only part of the equipment and training provided to Pakistan by the US military. What do you think India would do if we took Shireen Mazari’s advice and cut off our military supplies? Probably declare a national holiday! To turn our backs on this assistance would be to sign our own suicide note.

Surely there is ample suspicion and distrust between Paksitan and the US. But notice that this is never the result of military officials. It is almost never even the result of political officials! No, what causes this suspicion and mistrust is the uninformed writings of questionable characters like Shireen Mazari. Who is she working for, we ask! Certainly not for a strong Pakistan.

Rather than turning our backs on the world’s superpower and cutting off essential sources of advanced military equipment and training, Gen. Kiyani and the military officials should be working to foster closer ties with the American military officers and breaking down barriers of mistrust. Once our military pushes aside those who stand in our way (Shireen Mazari) and develops a partnership of mutual trust with the American military, no one will dare to threaten our nation.

The ‘Blackwater in Pakistan’ Furore: Who Benefits from Spreading the Lies?

A massive furore has been created over the supposed presence of Blackwater in Pakistan by the likes of Ahmed Quraishi and Shireen Mazari and websites like Pakistan Spectator, Pakistan Ka Khuda Hafiz, Pak Alert and articles like ‘American NGO Covers for Blackwater in Pakistan’ or ‘Expel Blackwater and US Marines from Pakistan.’

Who is funding these people? Why are they driving this paranoia? And above all who is benefiting by this?

If their real goal was ‘protecting’ Pakistan’s national interests and Pakistani citizens then they would admit the truth: There is no Blackwater presence in Pakistan.

It is time to look at the facts. The government of Pakistan has repeatedly said that there is no Blackwater presence in the country. If there had been, why and how would the government hide it? After all
there are other security companies in Pakistan some of which are wholly or partly owned by international companies. Former Pakistan army officer and respected media figure Ikram Sehgal has partnered his SMS Security Company with Wackenhut. The government does not deny Wackenhut’s presence in Pakistan nor do the Conspiracy theorists raise a huge fuss about it. In fact Shireen Mazari probably attends dinner parties along with Ikram Sehgal.

Another security company is called DynCorp International, a United States-based private military contractor (PMC) and aircraft maintenance company. DynCorp provided teams for the U.S. military in major theaters, such as Bolivia, Bosnia, Somalia, Angola, Haiti, Colombia, Kosovo and Kuwait. DynCorp also provided much of the security for Afghan interim president Hamid Karzai’s presidential guard and trains much of Afghanistan’s and Iraq’s fledgling police force

DynCorp was given permission to work in Pakistan by the Musharraf administration. At the time former CENTCOM Commander General Anthony Zinni was a Dyncorp official.

The people who are screaming about Blackwater today had no problems with DynCorp entering Pakistan. Why? Because at that time it was Musharraf who had allowed DynCorp into the country. And all these crazy nut jobs – whether Ahmed Quraishi or Shireen Mazari or any other of their co-conspirators – are Musharraf worshippers. Ahmed Quraishi proudly displays a photo of him receiving a medal from Musharraf on his website. And in a recent poll of Pak Alert Musharraf was the leading choice of ‘Who Should be the President of Pakistan?’ indicating the inclinations and tendencies of those attracted to the anti-democratic conspiracy theory semi-Jihadist pro-Taliban gang represented by this noise-makers.

Shireen Mazari had no problems with any of the critical national security decisions made by Musharraf – including the arrival in Pakistan of DynCorp, the establishment of the US Air Force facilities at Jacobabad and the secret handing over of hundreds of Pakistanis to the CIA, acknowledged by Musharraf in his own book. Not only did Mazari never complain about Musharraf’s actions beginning in 2001 it but she served as Director of Institute of Strategic Studies during Musharraf’s rule for eight years –the longest anyone has held that position.

So, the matter begs the question – Why is everyone talking about Blackwater today when none of these screaming and shouting whackos had a problem with DynCorp and others for so many years? The answer might lie not in politics or national security but economics.

Rumors about the entry of Blackwater or potential entry into Pakistan have been started so as to block attempts by any other US military contractor from entering Pakistan. The bad publicity, press and media will ensure that no new company would want to enter paving the way for continued benefits for the companies that are already in the market.

There is a need to spell out the truth: the Gilani-Zardari has not allowed any new company to come in and the government which allowed American military contractors to come in was the Musharraf regime.

Websites like Pak Alert and Pakistan Spectator have 3 key aims –

* Help the business interests of the US security companies already in Pakistan and to keep them out of the media

* Hurt the Pakistani army and intelligence services (because these institutions are siding with the constitutional civilian government and refusing to play politics that benefits the conspiracy theorists)

* And hurt the civilian government.

True Pakistani patriots and democrats who believe in reason and do not want the nation to be brought down by these conspiracy theorists should fight back against them.
