PAKISTAN NATIONALISTS REJECT JIHADI KILLERS

Real Pak Heroes

Real Pakistan Heroes Police and Military Saving Lives

Following deadly attacks on Pakistani citizens in Lahore and Karachi this week, Chief of Police Lahore Aslam Tareen told The Nation that “religious elements are playing in the hands of enemies of Pakistan in the name of Islam”. Pakistani nationalists must unite to defeat these Trojan Horses who seek to destabilize and break up the Pakistani nation.

Federal Minister for Interior Senator Rehman Malik condemned the attacks carried out by jihadi suicide bombers and declared Pakistan Police Medal (PPM) to those heroes who have sacrificed their lives in the line of their duty. The injured Manzoor ASI has also been awarded Pakistan Police Medal (PPM) on the recommendation of IG Sindh.

Pakistani police and military are the true heroes against such anti-Pakistan elements as TTP, LeT, SSP and other jihadi groups that murder innocent Pakistani citizens and attempt to create chaos and division among the masses. True Muslim leaders will take an effective role to counter the recruitment of Pakistani youth by these groups.

The government must take concrete steps to deal with hostile elements to disrupt their nefarious designs. Moreover, religious leaders of different factions should play more effective role to counter this menace as the country is at war in which the enemy is unseen.

There is a need for general awareness among the public about terrorists’ techniques used to subvert the uneducated youth and their method of infiltrating communities and masses to gain their support during planning and execution phases.

Police experts emphasise on the importance of resumption of local community vigilance system, coordination with police and monitoring of children’s activities by their parents.

Also the proud Pakistani citizen must exercise vigilance by being aware of jihadi techniques and tell-tale-signed and alert law enforcement of these when they are noticed.

‘We need the cooperation of public and activation of community vigilance system as it will enable law enforcing agencies to deliver more effectively and efficiently’, police officers say.

The communities and the masses should learn the techniques used by the terrorists to subvert their off shorts. The masses should be motivated to offer cooperation to the community leaders and the law-enforcing agencies to counter the menace of terrorism.

Most important the Islamist parties must not put their own ambitions ahead of the national interests. Islamist parties must issue declarations condemning the jihadi militant groups and call on true Muslims to work within the political process to protect the country and reject sectarian violence.

Political set up in Pakistan is moving in divergent directions where they would be exposed to more vulnerable risks and mutual destructive moves. Under such atmosphere, the government should give a clear message to all the Islamist parties, whose role is enshrined in our cultural life, to choose their aims and strategies correctly beyond sectarian considerations to set the domestic policies in order to shed away charges of breeding terrorism in the world.

A unified Paksitan is stronger than a thousand nations and will never fall prey to the threats and attacks of miscreants and evil groups that twist the teachings of Islam to justify their violence against our people.

Pakistan Military Captures Key Taliban/Al-Qaeda Complex

Pakistani military on Afghan border

The military continues to see successful operations carried out against Talibani militants, cleaning up the borders and tribal areas and ensuring the safety and security for Pakistani innocents.

The latest news comes as army captures a key Taliban and Al-Qaeda complex along the Afghan border. 75 militants were killed, including a number of foreigners from Egypt, Uzbekistan, Chechnia, and Afghanistan who had invaded Pakistan to cause murders and violence.

Dawn reports on the scene from Damadola:

Why a Strategic Partnership With American Military is Important

The military has received continued praise from American military commanders and political leaders. But more important is the fact that we continue to see success in efforts to drive Taliban butchers out of our towns and villages. Even as we continue to beat them back, though, the militants are continuing to target innocents with their nefarious attacks. Some people say we should negotiate with these terrorists and compromise with the people who are killing our innocents. I disagree.

An article in Dawn yesterday is a reminder of why it is important to build a strategic partnership with the American military so we can get the supplies and counter insurgency training that are key to defeating our REAL enemy.

The Mingora bombing is a grim reminder that while the nation’s attention has turned elsewhere, Swat still poses a serious challenge. In the days leading up to the bombing, it is believed that a former militant commander of Mingora had sneaked back into the area along with several associates and was planning fresh strikes.

A trip to the region scheduled over the weekend by President Zardari and army chief Gen Kayani was also quietly called off. Yet, this does not necessarily mean that a deadly new phase is beginning in the counter-insurgency in Swat. While it was always predicted that the militants would try to melt into the local population after it returned and then renew their attacks against the security forces, the scale of the re-infiltration is not clear yet.

Bear in mind that operations elsewhere have knock-on effects on the various militant sub-groups. The latest army-led operation in Bajaur is believed to have forced militants who had regrouped there to flee elsewhere. Maulana Fazlullah himself is believed to be on the move again and could be in Dir or Afghanistan or the Charmang area of Bajaur. Complicating matters further are rifts among the militants. Faqir Mohammad, the warlord who controlled the safe haven in Bajaur where Maulana Fazlullah was believed to be hiding earlier, has been ejected by an Afghan-Pakistani militant commander, Qari Ziaur Rehman, which could be yet another reason for Swat TTP militants to be on the run again.

While the precise movements may appear confusing, there is little doubt that the army’s push into many parts of Pakistan — up to 11 areas by the army’s own count — has forced the militants to keep moving from place to place. That represents a clear opportunity: it is easier to capture the enemy when he is on the run and moving through areas that are not very familiar. But there does appear to be a lack of reliable and actionable intelligence in real time. Citizen policing has proved effective in parts of Swat, for example, but it cannot go beyond a certain point.

What’s needed is a trained police force with significant intelligence-gathering capabilities. There is an added benefit of such a force: with reprisal killings on the rise and more arrests being made, an effective police force can help curb vigilantism and bring militants to justice. And yet so much time has already been lost in bureaucratic debate. Even in Pakistan proper the provinces have yet to seriously ramp up their police forces. Without such counter-terrorism capabilities, the country will struggle in its long war against militancy.

This was is not over, and these jihadi militants are not going to give up easily. We should not be talking about negotiating a surrender of Pakistan to these invaders. Instead we should be preparing our forces to root them out for good. A strategic relationship with American military will help make this possible.

Taliban No Match For REAL Pak Nationalists

Security forces take Damadola from Taliban controlTaliban militants are no match for Pakistan’s security forces was proven again this weekend when Damadola was liberated after nine years of being under Taliban.

Sources told Daily Times that security forces pounded Taliban hideouts in Sewai, Damadola and Badalai areas and killed five Taliban while five others were injured in the attack. The forces also bombed four Taliban hideouts during the operation.

The forces have set up checkposts at various points with the help of locals while at some places the locals have even offered their houses for establishing posts. The forces also blew up the house of Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan spokesman Maulvi Umar in Badan area.

That’s right. Locals have set up checkposts and are even offering their homes for establishing posts to get rid of Taliban killers.

What was Talibani response? Of course it was to blow up some girls school.

Meanwhile, Taliban militants blew up a girls’ school on Saturday in Bannu, the latest in a wave of attacks by extremists targeting educational institutions, a minister said.

What kind of sick monster blows up a school in the first place? This kind of militant jihadi cannot face the might of Pakistan’s security forces and so instead launches attacks against children.

Haqqani: Give Pakistan Armed Drones

The Americans have already pledged to transfer to Pakistan the UAV drone technology to do reconnaissance and intelligence. According to The Nation, Pakistan’s Ambassador to the USA Husain Haqqani is telling the Americans to give Pakistan the armed technology so that Pakistan can target the militants that are attacking us ourselves.

“The government of Pakistan has repeatedly said that we would like to have the capability to be able to identify and take out targets on ground,” Ambassador Husain Haqqani told National Public Radio. Pakistan, he stressed, prefers to do everything on the Pakistani side of the border itself.

“And the reason is very simple: We have a military capability in certain areas and in some areas we lack certain technical capabilities and we would like that technical capabilities for ourselves.”

The Pakistanis are committed to fighting militants in the Afghan border region but it is unfair to characterize Pakistan as a base for al-Qaeda-linked elements, since militants straddle both sides of the porous and challenging border, he clarified.

Haqqani made a very interesting statement also that people are against drone strikes because innocents are sometimes caught in the crossfire. If Pakistan’s military had the technology of armed drones then we would be able to target the militants with our better intelligence and eliminate the problem of innocent deaths while destroying the jihadis.

Snuff Out Enemies of Pakistan

Innocent victims of militant bombing in Lakki Marwat

Innocent victims of militant bombing in Lakki Marwat

The Daily Times today includes an editorial that is exactly correct about the attack on innocent people playing volleyball in Lakki Marwat and what that shows about the stakes in the war for Pakistan. The Editors conclude by saying correctly that, “This should leave no doubt in the minds of the security establishment, media, political elite as well as the general public that those carrying out suicide bombings are the enemies of Pakistan. They need to be snuffed out by putting up a united front.”

The jihadi militants who can kill 100 innocent people during a volleyball game are nothing but butchers and monsters. And this attack was clearly carried out in attempt to intimidate and imprison the people in their own village when they began to organize a Lashkar in support of their own government.

The peace committee members risked their lives to evict the militants from their villages and demolished their houses and training camps. It infuriated the militants, who vowed revenge. There had been stray incidents of militants attacking security forces in the area and threatening pro-government people, but nobody thought they would strike when a huge crowd would gather to watch a volleyball match.

These are the stakes in this war that we are fighting. We must present a united front in opposition to these monsters and not let ourselves be distracted by petty politics, conspiracy theories, or personal prejudices. By setting aside our differences and concentrating on the enemy at hand, we will protect our nation and preserve our freedoms for the future. The alternative is seen in Lakki Marwat.
